Rule Modifications for 2009 Championships

LCC Championships 1 January 2009 to 31 December 2009

LCC did not run any competitive events in 2008 and although the Directors have some ideas for LCC run or co-promoted events in the future, there are no definite dates yet for 2009. Therefore from 1 January 2009 until 31 December 2009, the Directors (as empowered under LCC Club Rule 3.5.2) are introducing the following amendments to the Championships, together with the Club Rules Affecting the Championships.
The 6 current LCC Championship Counters are given in Appendix B of the Club Rules. Until further notice the Ambassador Championship has been deleted/suspended, (as all LCC championships depend on other Clubs Events and it is therefore redundant). Also until further notice the 6th Championship counter will be the Marshals Championship.
Until further notice the following Rules have been modified :-
3.5.6 Is modified by adding the following statement after the 2nd line `Points will be Awarded according to the overall finishing position of each fully paid up LCC driver or navigator competing in any event run by any car club which is a member of one of the Scottish Regional Associations, or to which one of the Scottish Associations have been invited. The Event must be open to any LCC member who holds any necessary, MSA Competition Licence required for that particular event. Competitors must enter the event under LCC. (Since the number of LCC Members, in any event, in 2009, is liable to be small) Class positions will not be used to determine the amount of points awarded)`.
3.5.13 These Rules are suspended.
3.5.14 Delete from the 2nd line, less one.
3.5.15 Until further notice, delete `who can show proof ----------------fulfilling this condition`. To encourage members to enter events under the Lanarkshire Car Club banner, the Directors have considered awarding a prize to the Club Champion.
It was agreed that any substantial award would have to be advertised before the start of the championship year and therefore cannot apply to the 2009 championship.

For this year we are offering a modest prize in the form of a cheque up to the value of £100 towards the entry fee for any event of his or her choice in 2010 that an MSA permit has been issued and LCC are one of the invited clubs or associations that LCC is a member of.
Lanarkshire Car Club decals to the pre agreed size and positioning must be carried on the car throughout the championship year.

In the event of a tie, the prize will be split equally between the members with the same number of points.

Additionally Marshals who are signed on and assist in any event will be awarded 10 points for each day they assist at an event, run by any car club which is a member of one of the Scottish Regional Associations, or to which one of the Scottish Associations have been invited.
Competitors/Marshals must claim their points by sending an email to LCC Directors at directors@lanarkshire-car-club.co.uk along with reasonable proof of, their finishing position relative to other LCC competitors/while marshals must confirm their role in assisting at the event.
All claims must be made within 14 days of the finish of an event. Claims after this period will only be accepted at the discretion of the Directors.

2009 AGM

THE AGM was held at SOL, Motherwell on 6 March

Summary of procedings

The President thanked SOL for the use of the premises for the AGM.
The President also thanked the LCC Directors who have provided him with great help, in running The Club, this year, albeit in the low-key manner that we were instructed to do at the last AGM.
Apart from monthly meetings to deal with club business, Directors have also represented LCC at AWSCC and ESACC committee meetings, the main details of which have been reported on our website
This year we have run without incurring major expenditure, We have eliminated the loss made in the two previous Years; In fact we actually made a small profit, despite a reduction in the Club Membership Subscription. (15 to 10) and a considerable reduction this year in the interest on our bank account, due to the reduced interest rates because of the recession. Also this year for the first time we had to pay 60 membership subs. to ESSAC. We also paid the MSA Radio Licence who has been flying the flag for LCC, at Stage Rallies throughout Scotland.
Many thanks were given to Brenda McRae for her work in Check Auditing the Accounts.
Membership is up from last years AGM.
During the year Don took over the Secretaries job in addition to Membership Secretary, he has also been active arranging a visit to M- Sport and looking at other possible visits.
Kenneth has been flying the flag for LCC at almost every Scottish Stage event with his radios.
< Harry has updated the constitution, club rules, kept the minutes and restarted LCC Championships.
Kenneth McRae, our webmaster, has was busy producing a program for an improved LCC Website, which he is currently debugging and will soon be up and running.

One sad piece of news, the President and Treasurer attended a memorial service for Ian Muir who died in Ireland where he was living. Ian was a former president and co-founder of the Burmah Rally along with Dr Stuart Parker.

On the brighter side LCC members have been active in marshalling at various events throughout Scotland and had considerable success in competions this year.
Neil Turner/Charles Brown won the Scottish Navigational Championship, Mike Dymock/Jim Crighton Won their Class in the Scottish Forest Rally Championship and Graeme Sherry/Pete Weal were runners up in their class in the Scottish Tarmac Championship. John captained the AWSCC team consisting of LCC crews,Charles Brown/Neil Turner, John Shanks/Pete Weal, along with Monty Pearson/Euan Leeming (BECC), that won the Inter Association Navigation Championship.
Club Championships, for the year Starting on 1st January 2009 has been introduced, based on points scored for competing or marshalling on any of the events run by car clubs who are registered members of either ESACC or AWSCC.
Election and Removal of Office Bearers
David Days membership has lapsed, so at present he is no longer eligible to hold office. The President, John Shanks, the Honorary Secretary, Don Macbeth, the Honorary Treasurer, Harry Merry, and Director, Kenneth Cupples Were re-elected,also Elected was our Webmaster Kenneth McRae.

Future Activities.

Don Macbeth has arranged a visit to M-sport on the 17th March. Possible further visits are being considered as is co-promotion of GUMSCs Over and Under, Navigation Rally in October, and the possibility of an Autotest. Also suggested was a Scenic run with simple ball and arrow navigation and Pictorial clues as a more social event, which could also attract entries from Historic Car Clubs. Kenneth Cupples pointed out that only marshals registered with the MSA will be allowed Assist in the IRC Rally.
