SACC AUTOTEST CHALLENGE PROPOSAL

Due to the Geographical grouping principle, where Clubs within each Group will require to organise co-promoted events and then provide

competitors to compete in the SACC end of season event, it is considered more appropriate to title the event The SACC Autotest Challenge rather than Autotest Championship

It is envisaged that there could be six or seven Geographical Groups with between three and six clubs involved in each Group.

There would be seven classes for the Autotest Challenge event but as all groups are unlikely to have competitors in every class it is felt that each Group should be allowed to nominate seven drivers based on competition results and two further "wild card" entries making a total of 9 entries per Group.

Clubs would be able to run events with classes different from the Challenge classes but Competitors nominated by the Groups to compete in the Challenge would have to enter in one of the published classes.

A Group Team event would be considered as part of the Challenge Event if there was support for the idea from the majority of the local Groups.

within the Group. The SACC Autotest Discipline Co-ordinator would collate results from each Group with a view to publishing them on the SACC Website.

It would be useful to set up meetings between the Clubs involved in each Group with the SACC Co-ordinator in attendance to discuss the format in more detail and consider local ideas.

The initial proposal is to hold the SACC Challenge Event in early December after Clubs in the Groups have had sufficient time to hold their individual events.
Appendix

  1. Several West/South of Scotland Clubs have already had a meeting and agreed probable Groupings. East Ayrshire, Scottish Sporting, South

of Scotland, Solway, Glasgow University and possibly Machars could be involved

  2. The West Clubs would like to encourage Training days and believe if this was done in all Groups it would help attract more

    competitors.

  3. There was a suggestion that an Autotest Drivers Club could be formed with membership costing a nominal £1 to allow Challenge

Competitors to compete on their Club card.

  4. The Classes for die Challenge event would be:
    • ROAD CLASS (Taxed and MOT)
      1. Saloons up to 1400 cc

      2. Saloons over 1400 cc

      3. Sports Cars

    • UNTAXED
      1. All Specials and Sports Cars

      2. Saloons up to 1400 cc

      3. Saloons over 1400 cc

    • PRODUCTION CARS
