New track
We had an excellent turnout to the Drivers' Meeting on Tuesday. Our plans for 2010 were announced, and seemed to meet with the approval of the members. The main feature, of course is our move back to Lochgelly. We believe this has the potential to be a real success in the long term, but there's going to be a lot of work to do to get us up & running.
The move has two major implications. First, the club is in desperate need of funds to move equipment from Balado to Lochgelly, as well as to buy other track equipment. This needs to be set in motion before the end of the year, and we don't have much time to set up fundraising events. And going by our track record of recent fundraisers, we wouldn't hold out much hope for raising a fortune. So we are asking members for contributions on a long-term loan basis. If every driver gave the club £50, this would be enough to give us a flying start for our move. It is our intention to repay this money, - sometime! Please send contributions to

Once racing is up and running, the income from race meetings should easily support the club, but it's the short term cashflow which needs to be addressed at this point.
Scott will keep a record of all contributions, and once the club is on its feet financially, these will be repaid.
The other change we need to make is to bring the AGM forward. Since there's no racing just now, and there are many decisions to be taken which affect next year's racing, there doesn't seem to be any good reason to delay any longer. We need next year's committee in place as soon as possible. Another related topic that was raised, was the size of the committee. Do we really need 19 people on it? The existing committee will look at the options, and bring proposals to the AGM.
